An exceptional terroir

Our 500 hectares of vines are located in 9 communes south of Avignon: Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne, Morières-Lès-Avignon, Jonquerettes, Saint-Saturnin-Lès-Avignon, Montfavet, Le Thor, Caumont-sur-Durance, Noves and Vedène.

At Demazet Vignobles, we are proud of the richness of our terroir and soils, bringing elegance and finesse to our powerful wines. We find different types of soil in our plots, but the specificity of the AOP Gadagne Côtes-du-Rhône villages is to find the famous “galets roulés” (rolled pebbles) from the ancient bed of the Rhône, which bring structure and character to our wines. On the slopes, we also find a clay-limestone soil rich in minerals thanks to the pebbly topsoil.

What's more, in addition to a highly complex soil, we have a multitude of grape varieties: Carignan, Grenache noir and blanc, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Caladoc, Syrah, Marselan, Marsanne, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, Viognier and even, more recently, resistant varieties such as Floréal. These different grape varieties enable us to create different wine profiles and offer a wide range of wines to our consumers.

United since 1925

In 1925, the men and women of Demazet Vignobles combined their know-how and passion for vines on their terroir to the east of Avignon, an iconic location with its bridge and annual summer festival, to create the “Terres d'Avignon” winery.

In 2012, the winegrowers saw their tenacity rewarded in qualitative terms by gaining recognition for part of their terroir with the birth of the AOC Gadagne Côtes-du-Rhône Villages.

The commune of Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne is where our vineyards are mainly located. The Terres d'Avignon winemakers therefore decided to associate the village's coat of arms with their main terroir selection, known as “Réserve des Armoiries”, which has now become “Armoiries”.

A little anecdote: it was in 1994 that the first bottle was uncorked, and its reputation has grown ever since.

The know-how
of our teams

At Demazet Vignobles we make it a point of honour to respect the environment. We practise sustainable agriculture that respects biodiversity. We have also recently created the ‘Drôles de zozios’ range to promote our organic wines. These funny zozios pay tribute to the world's bird populations, which are under threat more than ever, even though they play a major role in maintaining the balance of biodiversity. We also have a wine with a high environmental value label, Domaine du Camp Reves, in AOP Gadagne Côtes-du-Rhône Villages red and AOP Côtes-du-Rhône Villages white.

A place to work
and meet

Our winery has been in existence since 1925, and we've been cultivating our ancestral know-how for almost 100 years now. A passion for wine has been passed on, along with shared values such as conviviality and the love of a terroir that has made our wines famous. At Demazet Vignobles, we cultivate the importance of tradition while looking to the future by developing our winemaking techniques. Our vats include stainless steel and concrete tanks, as well as barrels, foudres, Bordeaux and Burgundy casks, and we also use hot pre-fermentation maceration techniques to soften the power of our wines and extract more fruit. We have also recently invested in a refrigeration unit to offer even higher quality rosés and whites to our consumers. At the same time, we are developing our production site, which was enlarged in 2002 to enable us to store more wine and improve our bottling line. As you can see, Demazet Vignobles is a story of men and women who share the same love for wine.
